Slim, lightweight, and video — these are the three highlights of OPPO’s newest Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro that just launched in China. While the Reno 3 just became available in the Philippines, those who haven’t pulled the trigger yet might be in for a treat. Reno 4 comes with a starting price of CNY 2999(~P21,000) for the 8GB/128GB while the 256GB version is at CNY 3299(~P23,200). On the other hand, Reno 4 Pro sells for CNY 3799(~P26,700) for the same base model but the 12GB/256GB costs CNY 4299(~P30,200). Both devices will go on sale on June 12, with a special Pantone Summer Green Edition joining on June 18.

Unlike Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro, the Reno 4 series supports 5G already thanks to the Snapdragon 765G. However, only the Pro model comes with HDR10+, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. On the flip end, both are supported by Gorilla Glass 6 for both the back and front sides. But like most mid-range phones today, there’s no microSD slot expansion.
As mentioned, video is one of the main features of the Reno 4 series. You may be wondering why OPPO hasn’t mentioned photos, well, for starters, the selfie cameras are downgraded from 44MP to 32MP, with the Reno 4 adding a 2MP depth for a dual-selfie setup. For the main cameras, the vanilla variant uses a 48MP Sony IMX 586 sensor alongside 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth lenses. As for Reno 4 Pro, it uses the same sensor but with support for OIS and HDR recording. Additionally, it gets 12MP ultrawide with a “dedicated video camera” that’s made for night videos and Super Image Stabilizer Pro, and a 13MP telephoto lens that offers 2x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.
