In the recent Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, OPPO announced that it would partner with automakers and chipmakers such as FAW-Volkswagen, Anker, and NXP Semiconductor to further develop and license the OPPO’s VOOC flash charging technology.

The three companies mentioned; who are leaders in their respective fields such as automobiles, portable charging, and chip manufacture, were chosen as partners for the prestige they bring in their work and to reach consumers in all three settings to charge their devices: their homes, their, cars, and public places. Their partners would then apply the proprietary technical designs by OPPO in their own products. This has been applied and tested with over 2,950 flash charging patents worldwide and 1,400 already been granted.

OPPO then launched the Flash Initiative. Its commitment is to make its consumer’s lives easier by bringing their groundbreaking IP not just with their phones but with cars, public spaces, and chips in a wide variety of technologies.

In the event, the Senior Director of Intellectual Property at Oppo, Adler Feng expressed his thoughts with the initiative saying, “The Flash Initiative reflects OPPO’s belief in human-centric technologies that make a difference in people’s everyday lives. And thanks to our new partners, our proprietary technologies can reach more people than ever before. This is a vital step in freeing consumers to use their devices however they want, no matter what they need to do or where in the world they are.”

Also in the event is Cynthia Tan, the Brand Director at Anker Innovations China, in which she shared that OPPO and Anker shared the same “human-centric philosophy” where their top priority is their consumers. She even continued and said, “From day one, we wanted to use our innovations to bring the best charging technology we could to as many people as possible. By working with OPPO, we’re looking forward to giving our customers new flash charging experiences.

According to the Head of Smart Power & IoT Solutions, APAC, at NXP Semiconductors, Will Wang, that creating and making a smarter world and faster charging is “a crucial part” of the process. He also said, “If we’re going to improve people’s lives through technology, then we need to make their daily experiences easier and more convenient—and OPPO’s VOOC flash charging technology does exactly that.

CTTL or also known as China Telecommunication Technology Laboratory would do the testing and certify any products the partners would produce using OPPO’s VOOC fast charging technology. With CTTL being the largest laboratory in China, this led them to set high safety standards for fast charging technology which gave OPPO a five-star rating for its remarkable VOOC Flash Charging. Also, everyone should keep their eyes peeled as OPPO and CTTL worked together to develop a technical paper, sharing information about flash charging technology, especially when it comes to device and consumer safety.

We can expect in the future as OPPO and its newest partners would provide a conducive, easier, and richer life with their world-changing technology.
