In the Mobile World Congress, Shanghai (MWCS), OPPO showcased its innovations in device charging, 5G connectivity, and smart technology. Along with them are CTTL (China Telecommunication Technology Laboratory) and other leading partners in consumer electronics and chip manufacturing who came to talk about the future of flash charging technology.

In OPPO’s stand, a number of various cutting-edge charging technology are being exhibited. One example is their 125W flash charger that can charge up to 4,000mAh phone battery to 100% in merely 20 minutes. There is also a 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge product that can charge the same battery in 30 minutes only. There are also products from other partners that have been licensed with OPPO’s proprietary technologies.

In the event, the Vice President of OPPO Research Institute, Henry Tang shared his thoughts about 5G innovation at the 5G Innovation and Investment Summit. He said, “At OPPO, we firmly believe that 5G will change how we all live. As coverage and capacity expand, we’ll see new applications flourishing in numerous areas, bringing unexpected experiences to consumers. We’re already involved in the development of a global 5G standard, and will continue to explore new 5G devices and deployments, from TV to CPE to AR.”

In the MWCS, OPPO features four zones that show off their innovation in technology as well as their flash charging technology.

The first zone is The Smart Home of the Future which has OPPO’s IoT products. This will make our homes smarter and be more connected with each other. The apple of the eye is the 5G CPE, Omni, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 Modern-RF System. This will make your 5G connection stable, with high-speed Wi-Fi connections using two proprietary antennas.

When it comes to a 5G connection, they have the O-Reserve 5G antenna system. This utilizes the Sub-6GHz 5G spectrum. The device automatically chooses four out of eight of its antennas to provide the best possible signal. Also, there is the O-Motion 360° technology which fully rotates its antenna. This automatically ensures that the CPE is placed for optimum 5G millimeter-wave signal reception. With the partnership of Oppo with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., and Ericsson, they have successfully tested 5G millimeter wave technology using the Omni that gave them a downlink speed of 4.06Gbps. Visitors can enjoy and even learn more about OPPO’s Omni antenna system, other 5g technologies, and even experience for themselves the Augmented Reality (AR) shopping and gaming.

On the Futuristic Technologies zone, guests can get a closer look at the OPPO X 2021 concept phone. This is a rollable phone which can be unrolled from 6.7 to 7.7 inches. Also, they can also see for themselves another innovation from OPPO, the Wireless Air Charging technology. This would charge your device up to 7.5W. The Wireless Air Charging uses magnetic resonance, removing the inconvenience other wireless charging technology has to offer. This works as soon as your device is at a 10cm distance to the charging mat.

On the smartphone area, the Reno5 Series is on display. This includes the Reno5 Pro+ 5G Artist Limited Edition. In collaboration with Joshua Vides, a renowned graphic artist, the rear panel can change from silver to blue with just a simple tap, thanks to its electrochromic glass.
