It took the company some time but it’s finally coming — OnePlus is introducing the OnePlus 8 series with wireless charging support for the first time. Other than an official IP rating that is yet to be confirmed, the ability to have an OnePlus phone charge wirelessly has been one of the most requested features by the tech world. The company’s reason why it hasn’t included the feature until today is the slow output rate. With wired chargers going between 15W up to 65W, wireless chargers can only output up to 10W. But this is not the case anymore as the upcoming wireless Warp Charge can deliver up to 30W.
The high output is claimed to charge the OnePlus 8 Pro with assumed 4500mAh from 1% to 50% in just 30 minutes. Efficiency is one of the key areas the company focused on since coils easily heat up. Together with OnePlus 8 Lite, aka OnePluz Z, and OnePlus 8, the three handsets will be announced on April 14 through an online launch event.
For the first time ever, our industry-leading Warp Charge technology is going wireless on the #OnePlus8Series.
