Streaming giant Netflix recently announced that its ads-based subscription plan is launching in the Philippines in 2027.

The rollout is part of Netflix’s expansion of its ad-supported plan to 15 new countries. Aside from the Philippines, the subscription plan will also be launched in Austria, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Indonesia, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Thailand.
According to Netflix, the rollout provides members with more budget-friendly plan options while giving advertisers broader opportunities to connect with the platform’s audience.
“For members, it means more ways to enjoy Netflix at a price that works for them and for advertisers, this means the opportunity to connect to even more passionate, engaged Netflix fans around the world. We see plenty of room for growth and I couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds,” said Amy Reinhard, president of advertising at Netflix.
The company said that its ad-supported plan has surpassed 250 million global monthly active viewers, with 80% of these users remain active on a weekly basis.
Netflix has also unveiled new ad formats, such as vertical mobile video placements, pause-screen commercials, podcast sponsorships, and tailored advertisements powered by artificial intelligence.

Currently, Netflix’s local lineup consists of four subscription tiers: Mobile (PHP 169/month), Basic (PHP 279/month), Standard (PHP 449/month), and Premium (PHP 619/month).
Netflix has yet to reveal the pricing for the ad-supported plan in the Philippines. Stay tuned for more updates.
