Nothing Phone (3) Gaming Review

Nothing Phone (3) Gaming Review

We are back with another gaming review, and this time we are testing the gaming performance of the Nothing Phone (3).

Since this device is on the premium side of the market, we expect a smooth sailing gaming experience. Let’s get right into it.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

We played on the maximum available settings. Since this is a premium device, we expected a smooth performance with no issues—and it delivered. During matches, we didn’t encounter any performance drops. However, despite maxing out the frame rate, we only got a consistent 60 FPS.

It would have been better if we could have fully utilized the phone’s high refresh rate display. Still, gameplay was smooth and enjoyable.

Result: Max settings – Smooth and consistent 60 FPS

League of Legends: Wild Rift

By default, the settings were set to performance at 60 FPS, but we bumped everything up to maximum. Just like Mobile Legends, the performance was smooth with no struggles.

This time, however, we were able to fully utilize the display’s refresh rate, making gameplay much smoother. The device did get warmer compared to Mobile Legends.

Result: Max settings – 119 to 121 FPS

Call of Duty: Mobile

We played on medium graphics quality paired with ultra frame rate. The gameplay was smooth and responsive—flick shots felt snappy thanks to consistent performance. There were no stutters or frame drops during gunfights, which is great.

The only frame drops we noticed happened while navigating menus. Like Wild Rift, the device also felt warmer, which was a bit distracting.

Result: Medium graphics + Ultra frame rate – 113 to 121 FPS

Zenless Zone Zero

We set the graphics to medium+ with 60 FPS. In the overworld, performance was stable with no stutters or frame drops, and the visuals looked stunning.

During combat, however, there were occasional drops when performing combos. While not ideal, it was still bearable, and timing parries remained easy thanks to the phone’s responsiveness.

Result: Medium+ 60 FPS – 47 to 53 FPS in exploration, 54 to 60 FPS in combat

Genshin Impact

Using the same medium+60 FPS settings, gameplay was smooth in both exploration and combat. Even with heavy visual effects on screen, performance stayed consistent with no noticeable stutters or frame drops, unlike Zenless Zone Zero. The device did get warm, but it didn’t negatively impact gameplay.

Result: Medium+ 60 FPS – 52 to 55 FPS in exploration, 57 to 60 FPS in combat

Wuthering Waves

We also tested at medium+ 60 FPS. Exploration was smooth with no frame drops—flying around the map felt enjoyable thanks to the game’s beautiful scenery. Surprisingly, combat also stayed consistent with no noticeable dips, even though the device was warm. Dodging and parrying remained fluid and reliable.

Result: Medium+ 60 FPS – 55 to 60 FPS

Overall Thoughts

For its price range, the Nothing Phone (3) delivered flagship-level gaming performance across all tested titles. Both casual and graphically demanding games ran smoothly, making it suitable for daily play and endgame content alike.

The only downside is its aluminum frame, which gets noticeably warm after about an hour of gaming, making it a bit uncomfortable to hold. Still, this didn’t affect its overall performance.
