Samsung has officially introduced its new LPDDR6 RAM.
The new memory chip is built on Samsung Foundry’s 12nm process and can reach speeds of up to 10.7 Gbps.
While the peak rate is similar to current high-end LPDDR5X modules, Samsung increased the I/O count to improve total bandwidth and added a new power management system.
The company says this reduces power consumption by around 21% compared to LPDDR5X.
The focus of LPDDR6 is on supporting heavier on-device processing, especially for AI features that high-end mobile devices are increasingly handling locally.

The improved efficiency aims to maintain performance while reducing battery drain during sustained workloads.
Samsung also claims that the new RAM includes enhanced security features intended to better protect data processed in AI tasks.
These improvements are positioned to support upcoming smartphones, tablets, and laptops that rely on faster memory for multitasking and edge computing.
It is not yet confirmed which upcoming flagship phones will use Samsung‘s new LPDDR6. Stay tuned!
