Samsung is planning to keep powering its foldable lineup with its proprietary chip, according to a new report.
The report revealed that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip8 will use the latest Exynos 2600 chip. The chip was recently unveiled, featuring Samsung’s 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process, and has a 10-core CPU based on Arm v9.3 architecture.
The Exynos 2600 is also expected to power Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ models. If the rumors are proven true, this would mark the second consecutive year that an Exynos chip has powered a Z Flip smartphone. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500 chip is the first time the Flip series moved away from Snapdragon and adopted an Exynos chip.
Aside from the 2nm Exynos 2600, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will also see a change in its thickness, as leaks have surfaced claiming that Samsung is planning to slim down the upcoming foldable.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 was released in July 2025, and the brand is expected to follow a similar launch timeline for the Galaxy Z Flip8.
Samsung has yet to confirm official information about the upcoming foldable, so take this information with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more udpates.
