vivo V60 Review: Your ZEISS Telephoto Smartphone

vivo V60

vivo is back with another addition to its V series, the vivo V60. For the first time, the brand introduces a telephoto camera co-engineered with ZEISS.

But beyond this new camera technology that the V series is known for, what else makes the V60 stand out?

With that, here’s our full review of the newest vivo V60 5G. Read on to find out.

Frosted Matte Glass Design and Build

At the back, the vivo V60 features a sleek, minimalist pill-shaped camera module. Compared to the vivo V50, which we also had the chance to review, the new V60 now has separate cameras, offering two sensors with the AI Aura Light placed beside the module.

Our review unit comes in the Summer Blue colorway, but vivo also offers it in Mist Gray and Berry Purple variants.

The device sports a frosted matte glass back that not only looks premium but also helps minimize fingerprints. It gives off an elegant, clean look, good enough that you might even skip using a case.

At just 7.5mm thin and weighing around 203 grams, the vivo V60 feels well-balanced. It sits comfortably in the hand without feeling bulky, and despite having a plastic frame, the build quality still feels solid and premium.

Speaking of the frame, the volume rocker and power button are both located on the right side, while the left side remains clean. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM card tray, speaker grille, and USB-C charging port.

Build-wise, the V60 comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings, with vivo even claiming it can stay underwater at 1.5 meters for up to 2 hours. On top of that, it uses Diamond Shield Glass, which offers better scratch resistance compared to regular glass.

5000nits Brightness Display

Moving on to the display, the vivo V60 comes with a large 6.77-inch quad-curved AMOLED screen making the display gently curve into the frame, giving it a modern look and making the viewing experience feel more immersive.

The screen supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and has a resolution of 2392 x 1080.

One of the biggest highlights of the V60’s screen is its brightness. With up to 5000 nits of local peak brightness, visibility outdoors is excellent, even under direct sunlight, you won’t struggle.

For entertainment, the display is impressive. It supports HDR10+ and can show up to 1.07 billion colors, which means movies, TV shows, and videos look rich and vibrant, and more true-to-life. The colors remain accurate even when viewing from different angles, with no distracting shifts or distortions.

First-Ever Zeiss Telephoto Camera To The V Series

Let’s flip the device over to its rear cameras. As mentioned earlier, vivo partnered with ZEISS to bring the first-ever ZEISS telephoto camera to the V series. The vivo V60 is equipped with a 50MP ZEISS main camera (Sony IMX766) with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), paired with a 50MP ZEISS super telephoto camera (Sony IMX882), the same one found in the vivo X200 FE.

On the front, the device features a centered punch-hole cutout housing a 50MP ZEISS group selfie camera.

Moving on to performance, the vivo V60’s 50MP main camera delivers sharp, detailed shots whether you’re shooting in bright daylight or in low-light conditions.

Colors come out natural and well-balanced, without being overly saturated.

You also get ZEISS photography modes such as Natural, Vivid, and Textured, giving you more creative control over how your photos look.

Here are some sample shots taken with the vivo V60’s 50MP ZEISS super telephoto camera, which supports up to 100x zoom.

Portraits also come out impressive, with the option to shoot at different focal lengths such as 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and even 100mm. The 85mm captures a nice balance between the subject and background, while the 100mm is good for close-up details.

On the front, the 50MP selfie camera does a great job of capturing sharp and detailed shots with natural-looking skin tones. Portrait selfies also turn out well, with good background separation and pleasing colors.

When it comes to video, the vivo V60 supports recording at up to 4K 30fps not only on the main and telephoto cameras but also on the front camera.

The vivo V60 also comes with several AI-assisted photography features.

AI Four-Season Portrait can apply seasonal effects to your shots, giving them different visual moods.

AI Magic Move lets you reposition subjects within the frame to adjust the composition.

Meanwhile, AI Image Expander can extend the edges of a photo while filling in colors, textures, and details to make the scene appear wider.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Performance

The vivo V60 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, which promises a 27% boost in CPU performance, 30% better GPU performance, and 26% improved gaming efficiency compared to the previous generation.

For memory and storage, it comes with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. In day-to-day use, the phone runs smoothly whether you’re browsing, streaming, or working on productivity tasks.

There are occasional slowdowns if you keep too many apps open at once, but nothing that heavily affects the overall experience.

We’re going to be honest, this device isn’t built as a hardcore gaming phone, but it strikes a good balance. It offers reliable performance for casual and moderate gaming while still being efficient enough for everyday use.

Here are some of its benchmark results.

6,500mAh BlueVolt Battery

Now, for the battery, the vivo V60 is equipped with a large 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery, which vivo says has higher energy density compared to standard batteries. It supports 90W wired FlashCharge.

Our video loop test lasted us about 22 hours and 32 minutes with 50% brightness and 50% volume. As for charging, from 0 to 100%, it took us about 57 minutes.

To help manage power more efficiently, the device also includes features like Super Battery Saver, Battery Life Extender, and Bypass Charging, which can reduce strain on the battery during long-term use.

vivo V60 5G Price

Lastly, the price. The vivo V60 5G is available in two configurations. The 12+256  model is priced at PHP28,999. Meanwhile, the 12+512 variant is available at PHP30,999.

The vivo V60’s biggest highlight is its cameras. It’s the first V series phone with a ZEISS telephoto lens, along with a 50MP main and selfie cameras. You also get ZEISS color modes, AI tools, and up to 100x zoom, making it a great all-around camera phone for everyday use.

Overall, at a price starting at PHP28,999, the V60 gives good value. It’s not built to beat the most expensive flagships, but it does offer a balanced package, a premium design, excellent cameras, long battery life, and reliable performance.

The vivo V60 is now available for pre-order until September 12 in vivo concept stores, kiosks, and authorized dealers nationwide. Enjoy a Php 2,000 discount, an additional Php 500 off if availed through Home Credit, a vivo VIP card worth Php 6,640 with broken screen insurance and an extended warranty, as well as vivo Buds worth Php 1,699.
