A report from Bloomberg surfaced that Microsoft is apparently interested in buying Discord. Although it appears that this is in early discussions but it looks like Microsoft is ready to at least buy the gaming-centric chat software for $10 billion.

Despite the talks with Microsoft, Discord is likely to make an announcement by itself. Microsoft seems to be a great choice but there are others with which Discord is considering to take the discussion with such as Epic Games and Amazon.

According to VentureBeat, Discord with a number of 140 million active users has had an estimated value of about $100 million to $7 billion and now they are looking for a sale worth $10 billion. It was also reported that Discord was the one who approached Microsoft offering the deal which also included in the conversations is Xbox head, Phil Spencer. As of now, these are mere speculations but we can’t help and look to the future on how Discord can be a beneficial partnership with Microsoft.

If ever the deal goes through, integrating Discord in Microsoft’s assets such as Xbox Game Pass, consoles, PC, and even mobile would make communication smoother. Previously, Microsoft has just finished the $7.5 billion acquisition of ZeniMax which expanded Microsoft’s game division.
