Microsoft has announced a set of upcoming changes to Windows 11 based on user feedback.
One of the key additions is expanded taskbar customization. Users will soon be able to move the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen, addressing a long-standing request.

Microsoft is also adjusting how AI features are integrated. The company said it will reduce unnecessary entry points for Microsoft Copilot in apps like Snipping Tool, Photos, Widgets, and Notepad, focusing instead on more practical use cases.
Several changes aim to reduce disruptions from system updates. These include options to skip updates during setup, delay installations for longer periods, and restart or shut down without being forced to install updates immediately. Microsoft also plans to reduce automatic restarts and notifications.
Performance improvements are coming to File Explorer. Widgets and feed features will also be updated with quieter defaults and more user control.
For the Windows Insider Program itself, Microsoft is introducing clearer channel structures, improved access to new features, and better visibility into how user feedback is used.

In addition, a redesigned Feedback Hub is now rolling out to Insiders, offering a faster and simpler way to submit and review feedback.
The Windows 11 updates and changes will begin rolling out to Windows Insiders in preview builds starting in March through April 2026.
