At this point, we already know LG is taking a different approach in designing and releasing phones in 2020. Announced a week ago, the LG Velvet will lead this new strategy to be relevant to the market. But now that the company has revealed an official teaser of the device, we feel like LG just took an extra step in providing us an affordable 5G mid-range phone. In case you didn’t know, there are a handful of Snapdragon 765G devices already and LG is just about to join the party.
Thanks to the official teaser video, we already know how powerful the Velvet device will be. Other than that, we only have the design to marvel at. The video shows four color variants of the upcoming LG phone — Black, Green, Gradient Pink-Purple finish, and White that shimmers like a prism. Diving into the other design cues, the “Raindrop” style features three cameras on the back with a small hump for the main sensor. The entire build is of aluminum frame and 3D glass front and back. Up top shows the SIM-tray and a microphone with the bottom featuring a USB-C port, an audio jack, and a speaker. The display has a narrow build which could be in the 21:9 cinematic aspect ratio. The bezels are also slim along with the small teardrop notch that resembles the one found on the Essential Phone.
LG Velvet has no official release date yet.
