How to Check if a Process Is Running With Admin Privileges in Windows 11

You could forget which processes are running with elevated (admin) rights if you have a lot of processes running at once. Windows 11‘s Task Manager may be used to rapidly ascertain this.

You’ll need to reveal a unique column in Task Manager that is hidden by default if you want to see which processes you’re running with administrator capabilities. Open Task Manager if you want to see this column. You may accomplish this by using the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keyboard shortcut or by entering “Task Manager” into the Search box on the Windows taskbar, clicking the Task Manager program that appears in the search results, or by clicking the Search icon in the taskbar.

After clicking, a header menu and a variety of various details regarding the active processes will be shown. Select “Details” from the header menu.

A process is operating with administrator privileges if the Elevated column for that process contains the value “Yes”.

All there is to it is that. In Windows 11, practically every program may be run with administrator rights, including File Explorer. Remember that user accounts on the system may also have administrator rights.
