Just a few weeks ago, we’ve seen the closure of the biggest TV network in the Philippines which is the ABS-CBN. Its digital box has ceased operations too as well as the other channels like Studio Sports 23 and ANC. Only SkyCable remains operation as of this writing.
For Globe and Smart, they need to have visible changes and improvements particularly in their signal coverage and internet speed. The Philippines is one of the lagging countries in terms of network quality.
Enter the DITO Telecommunity which is the 3rd major telco that will start their operations next year. It will see an opportunity for the Dennis Uy and China Telecom backed company if Duterte will really push through its threat against the two major telcos.
