The “Broadband ng Masa” program of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will help the province of Antique join the rest of the country in going digital.
The government-led program started on March 3. It was made possible by a partnership between the DICT and Senator Loren Legarda, which has been seen as another essential step in the scheme since it began.

Through this project, free Wi-Fi spots will be set up on different campuses of the University of Antique and in many other parts of the province, including areas where the locals live.
Some of the campuses are Caluya, Hamtic, Libertad, Sibalom, and Tario-Lim Memorial.
During the ceremony, DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy said that “digital transformation” will be a big part of the country’s growth in the next six years and that “Broadband ng Masa” will be the key to achieving this goal.
Uy also said there could be as many as “150 free Wi-Fi sites” in the province during the “initial stages,” but more should be expected as the effort works to connect more barangays over the next few years.
