One of the most highly anticipated A-series device of 2015, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (priced at Php 24,990) is here with a bang.
We recently took our time and unboxed the A7, all the while, taking our sweet time of the not-so-new-yet-not-so-old A-series device. Lets check its overall price, features and whatnot to see whether the Samsung Galaxy S7 would keep up to its A8 successor and live up to everyones expectation.
The unit that we got was a midnight black, which looked a bit good and mysterious. It also comes with an in-ear earphone with microphone and earbuds, A SIM ejector tool, 2-pin wall charger, a microUSB cable and the usual quick guides and memos. It packed the pretty usual stuff that Samsung has on their retail box. In regards to the box’s packaging, its the pretty standard blue box of the A-series, which we thought was consistently well done by Samsung. Good for them.
Box contents:
The Samsung Galaxy A7 is not a half bad phone to experience. In a few moments that we had our hands on it, it did alright. We started the latter up and got hands on experience with the device. The A7’s 5.5-inch build was a pretty vanilla and didn’t seem to showcase anything new (i don’t know why we were expecting anything new to an almost year old device).
Before we booted up the device, we figured to take a look on its exterior. The A7’s polycarbonated back was pretty easy to handle and for someone who has sweaty palms, it was shocking to experience the latter with ease. The midnight black is still one of the better colour variants, at least to me, which showcases the abundant simplicity of the A7.
The square edges of the device looks really appealing on the midnight black variant and despite being relatively vanilla-like, the edges showcased a bit of luxuriousness, which was entirely unexpected from the design.
Once we booted up the device, we decided to roam around its functions and whatnot and for the short time that we did, we had fun with it. However, there were experienced heating issues, while playing on certain applications and was probably due to me, getting the A7’s brightest way too bright while keeping an active app, active.
After checking the UI and the different bloatware (eh, bloatware), we decided to further check the exterior. The A7 has 3 physical buttons, namely the volume rocker on the left side, the power button on the right and the menu button on the lower middle of the screen. At the right side of the air gap or listening speaker of the A7 is where the 5MP selfie shooter is conveniently located, which wasn’t exactly that surprising, since that position is a normal place to find selfie shooters.
At the back of the device is where the 13MP rear shooter is located, together with the LED flash on the left and the mono speaker on the right. The immensely known Samsung logo is conveniently placed a few inches below where the rear shooter is located.
All in all, the short time that we had on the Samsung Galaxy A7 was indeed not half bad, i tried to play a couple of games with the device, with the usual heating kicking in, though it wasn’t that much problematic.
For now, this is what we can give you guys on the A7, be sure to look forward on our upcoming review on the device and we’ll keep you guys updated on our Facebook page and other social media pages.
