Huawei Mate 40E with Kirin 990E Processor, 6.5” OLED Display

A new member of Huawei’s flagship Mate series has been added. This will be the Huawei Mate 40E, an addition to the Mate 40 series which debuted last year in October and introduced the Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and the Mate Pro+.

The Mate 40E will be having a 6.5-inch OLED display with 2376 x 1080 pixels resolution and include an 89Hz refresh rate and 240Hz sampling touch rate. The unit will be powered by the Kirin 990E that has a 7nm + EUV processor including a 14 core Mali-G76 GPU. As for RAM, it will feature 8GB while it will have two variations for internal storage, one 128GB and 256GB. When it comes to its OS, it has Android 10-based EMUI 11 UI.

The smartphone also has a triple-camera setup that has a 64MP main camera which has an f/1.9 aperture. For the other two, it features a 16MP ultrawide sensor and an 8MP telephoto camera that has 3x optical zoom with OIS support. On the front, it has a punch-hole display with a 13MP camera.

When it comes to connectivity, it has dual SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C port. The Mate 40E is powered by a 4,200mAh battery with a 40W wired and wireless fast charging.

The Huawei Mate 40E is available in three colors, Mithril, Bright Black, and Glazed White. When it comes to pricing, it varies especially on what storage variation you choose. For the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, it will be priced at 4,599 Yuan (PHP34,314 est.) and as for the 8GB and 256GB internal storage, the price tag will be 5,099 Yuan (PHP38,044 est.). The smartphone is already available to pre-order in China and will go on sale on March 18 in China as well. For international stores, there is still no news on when it would be available.
