We have another addition to the OPPO Reno16 series, and this is the highest-end variant, the OPPO Reno16 Pro.
For this review, we used this device as our daily driver, and here are our thoughts.
Let’s start with the design. Overall, it looks very similar to the Reno16 F. The most noticeable difference is its size. Personally, we prefer this model because it is slightly smaller, making it easier to use with one hand.
The phone weighs 191 grams and feels noticeably more premium than the Reno16 F. This is mainly due to its aluminum frame, which gives it a sturdier and more solid build.
It also comes with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, so you won’t have to worry too much about accidental splashes or exposure to water during daily use.
The OPPO Reno16 Pro features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 3,600 nits peak brightness, and a 1.5K resolution.
Compared to the Reno16 F, this model offers a higher display resolution while being slightly smaller. In terms of quality, the display produces rich colors, making it enjoyable for watching videos, browsing social media, and everyday use. Animations are smooth, and I didn’t encounter any noticeable slowdowns while navigating the interface.
The bezels are also quite slim, giving the screen a more immersive feel despite its smaller size.
We weren’t able to fully test its outdoor visibility under direct sunlight due to the rainy weather during our review period, but based on our experience, the display gets bright enough for comfortable everyday use.
Now, let’s move on to one of the Reno16 Pro’s main selling points, the cameras.
The device features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. On the front, it has a 50MP selfie camera housed inside the punch-hole display.

For video recording, the rear cameras can shoot at up to 4K at 60fps. Here are sample clips taken in both daylight and low-light conditions.

Moving on to performance, the OPPO Reno16 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super. Our review unit comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
As a device positioned in the upper mid-range to lower flagship segment, its overall performance is solid for daily use.
While it doesn’t match the performance of flagship chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it is still powerful enough for tasks such as 4K video editing and graphically demanding games.
For lighter workloads such as web browsing, messaging, and social media, the phone handles everything smoothly. We also played Wuthering Waves, and the experience was generally good, with only minimal frame drops during gameplay.

The OPPO Reno16 Pro is equipped with a 6,700mAh battery paired with 80W wired fast charging.
One thing that feels missing at this price point is wireless charging. Battery life is decent, but compared to the Reno16 F, I actually found the latter to deliver better overall endurance.
That said, for casual users, the Reno16 Pro should still comfortably last through an entire day, with some battery remaining by the end of the day.
As of writing, OPPO has not yet announced the official Philippine price of the Reno16 Pro.
Overall, I don’t consider it a must-buy. It delivers a capable camera system and solid day-to-day performance, but it falls short in areas such as battery life compared to the Reno16 F and the lack of wireless charging.
Still, if your priority is having a smartphone with a versatile and capable camera system, the OPPO Reno16 Pro is worth considering.
