Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21+ stops by at Geekbench to flex the muscles of the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 875 chipset from Qualcomm. Compared to the iPhone 12’s A14 Bionic, the scores are lower.
Despite flaunting huge upgrades over the Snapdragon 865 and 865 Plus, the 875, which is set to be announced on December 1, is still behind Apple’s in-house chip.
The Geekbench scores of the Galaxy S21+ with the Qualcomm chip show 1120 and 3319 on single-core and multi-core, respectively. Coming from the synthetic benchmarking site, the iPhone 12 Pro recorded 1584 and 3906. Though this isn’t apple to apple comparison, it’s still a significant gap.
Samsung, however, looks to close the gap with the inevitable arrival of Exynos 2100. After receiving flak from fans of the brand, due to the inferior Exynos 990, the company will try to steer the ship back in the right direction.
Various reports already suggest that the Exynos 2100 is better than Snapdragon 875, thanks to the switch to ARM’s CPU.
