Reports from Reuters shared social media giant X, previously known as Twitter, is taking Media Matters to court.
Why? Well, it all stems from a report that Media Matters published.
X isn’t taking this lightly. They filed a lawsuit in a U.S. District Court in Texas, alleging that Media Matters played some questionable cards. According to X, Media Matters manipulated the platform by using accounts solely dedicated to major brands or those known for fringe content.
X also argues that Media Matters painted an inaccurate picture of what the typical user experiences on X, all with the sinister intent of harming X and its business.
With that being said, advertisers like IBM and Comcast saw the report, and quickly pulled their ads. Apple and Disney confirmed they also suspended their X/Twitter ad campaigns, as reported by Axios and The New York Time.
