What to Expect from realme's April 22 Launch Day

Last month, realme announced the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro in India. While we’re still waiting for the company to bring its popular series to the country, it appears like we have to wait a little longer given the challenges of the pandemic, among others. Until that happens, we ask you to turn your attention to the April 22nd event. Based on rumors and early leaks, realme is about to announce at least three devices that may or may not reach the global market. While we’re only a couple of days away from the event, here’s what you can expect.

realme 8 5G

Like we said earlier, realme 8 got announced with 60HZ sAMOLED and 64MP quad-cameras. Unfortunately, it’s a phone that’s still using the Helio G95 chipset of realme 7. On top of that, it only supports 4G. Well, that’s where realme 8 5G will come in.

According to leaks, realme 8 5G is sporting Dimensity 700, paving the way for faster mobile connection. However, it’s coming with some downgrades in other areas. The 6.5″ FHD+ LCD 90Hz screen is replacing the 60Hz sAMOLED of the 4G model and the camera setup is now using 48MP triple-cameras on the back and an 8MP on the front. That’s not all. The 5000mAh battery is only supporting up to 18W fast charging. Based on promotional materials, realme 8 5G is going to come in black and blue colors.

realme Q3 Series

It appears that the most interesting part is going to be the introduction of the realme Q3 Series. The lineup will debut the Q3 and Q3 Pro, and while there’s no clear information regarding their respective specs, several key features surfaced online. Apparently, we should expect a small (yet handy) 6.43″ display with support for 120Hz AMOLED. Unlike budget AMOLED phones, the Q3 (or Q3 Pro) will utilize an in-display scanner.

Under the hood is Dimensity 1100, backed up by a 4500mAh battery with 50W fast charging. There’s a 64MP main sensor for what looks to be a triple-camera setup.

Other than the impressive specs, the Q3 Series will likely present the Q3 Pro with a fancy and unique finish on the back. As explained by realme’s industrial design director, Xianghai Sire, the phone will absorb natural light in the day and will glow in the night. realme further details the design with a new sandstone crystal with a matte effect.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any information regarding the prices of these devices. But for now, that’s what you need to know.
