The UnionBank of the Philippines, run by Aboitiz, has announced that the guards will be changing in its thrift and digital banking branches.

Manuel Santiago Jr. has been named president and chief operating officer of City Savings Bank. He will replace Lorenzo Ocampo, who has been named vice chairman and CEO of the thrift bank.

Ana Aboitiz Delgado was named the new chairperson of CitySavings. She is the chief customer experience officer and digital channels officer for UnionBank.

Delgado did a lot to grow UnionBank’s digital customer base through its UB Online mobile app. He was also the driving force behind the change and redesign of its branches to the Ark, which improved the customer experience in physical locations.

Delgado was also a key player in signing the deal between Citibank N.A. and UnionBank, which changed the game.

As of the end of September last year, CitySavings had ₱114.82 billion in assets, making it the fourth-largest thrift bank in the country. With ₱17.33 billion in the capital, it came in second.
