Through the Lens of the vivo V60

After the launch of the vivo V60 in the Philippines, we quickly put it through a review, covering design, build quality, display, cameras, performance, and battery life.

Our takeaway? The phone offers a well-rounded experience with a premium build, capable cameras, dependable performance, and strong battery life.

However, for this article, we’ll narrow the spotlight to its cameras. As we all know, vivo has long built its reputation around mobile photography, so it’s worth asking, how well does the V60 hold up?

We’ll look closer at its first 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera, the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature, and the new AI Four-Season Portrait mode. Read more to find out!

When we go for a quick weekend stroll in the park, we Filipinos can’t resist taking photos, right? The greens, candid portraits, maybe a few OOTD shots for your social media update. But more often than not, you’ll find your camera struggling with distance, lighting, or just the mood of the scene.

With the vivo V60, we took some shots, wide nature scenes, close-up portraits, and casual poses, to see how its camera performs.

50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera

One of the standout additions to the vivo V60 is the 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera. Telephoto lenses on phones often struggle with detail loss or noise once you zoom in, but the vivo V60 manages to hold up impressively well.

Take this shot of the dragonfly, for example. Even when zooming in from a distance, the fine details on its wings and body remain crisp, while the background melts away into a smooth blur. It feels closer to what you’d expect from a dedicated camera than a typical phone zoom.

The same goes for the flower and tree samples, zooming in doesn’t compromise clarity. Colors stay punchy but not overdone, and textures, like the bark of the tree, retain their natural look without getting washed out or overly sharpened.

Of course, lighting still plays a role. Bright outdoor conditions give the best results, while lower light may introduce a bit of softness. But for daytime photography, it’s one of the most reliable telephoto cameras we’ve tested on a phone in this range.

ZEISS Multifocal Portrait

One thing we really like about the vivo V60 is the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait feature. A lot of phones try to blur the background, but sometimes it looks fake or the person ends up losing detail. With this one, the subject stays sharp while the background becomes soft and pleasing.

You can notice how the details are clear, like the hair, clothes, and even small accessories. The skin tone looks natural, too. Colors stay bright but not too much, and textures like fabric or plants in the background look real.

What’s nice is that it works for different poses, sitting, standing, or even moving a little. The portraits look good, whether it’s a close shot or a full body frame for OOTDs.

AI Four-Season Portrait

One of the more creative features of the vivo V60 is its AI Four-Season Portrait mode, which transforms your photos to match different seasons, which are summer, spring, winter, and fall.

The colors and lighting are adjusted automatically using AI, and the results are actually quite fun!

For example, in this AI Summer Photo, the grass and flowers are bright.

Spring brings soft pink cherry blossoms. This one is our favorite as the lighting feels very natural.

Meanwhile, the autumn image uses deep reds and oranges.

Even the winter shot, though clearly enhanced, does a good job of creating a chilly feel.

This feature is great if you want to create something different, since we don’t really experience four seasons in the Philippines.

If we’re going to be honest, not every AI Four-Season photo is 100% realistic. In our sample photos, the winter and summer AI effects are stronger, but overall, they add a creative twist. It’s a fun way to capture a single place in four different moods.

Verdict

Overall, the vivo V60’s cameras manage to strike a nice balance between practicality and creativity. The 50MP telephoto lens gives you zoom shots, the ZEISS Multifocal Portraits make everyday photos look polished without looking fake, and the AI Four-Season Portrait is a playful tool when you want something a little different.

For casual use, travel snaps, or even OOTDs, the experience with vivo V60 feels dependable.

And maybe that’s the bigger point, right? Smartphones like vivo V60 aren’t just about specs anymore.
