Threads Will Soon Have a Website and Search Feature

Threads

In the social media business, it’s all about coming up with new ideas. When Twitter had problems, Meta took the chance to start Threads, a new social media site that would compete with Twitter. But CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s latest tweet shows that change is on the way. “Search and the web are coming in the next few weeks,” he said, noting how fast his team worked.

Alex Heath, a well-known writer, recently wrote about how amazing it was that Threads got 100 million signups in record time, which was faster than any other consumer software product.

But there are problems that come with being successful. Reuters says that more than half of the people who signed up did not continue to use the site. Especially for a new social media app that is still working out its features, these kinds of user engagement rates might be expected. Even so, Zuckerberg is still positive about keeping users.

Meta released Threads’ Following feed last week to get people more involved. It gives users a break from strictly algorithm-driven content and lets them put posts from their chosen groups at the top.

Threads lacks a desktop web form, which is something that stands out. It’s clear that this function is in high demand. Adam Mosseri, who is in charge of both Threads and Instagram, is often asked by well-known users about when it will be available. Many, including this writer, can’t wait for a version that can be used on a PC.

Threads wants to grow its market share, and adding a full-featured search tool will be a game-changer. The option to search inside posts is very useful for professionals, especially journalists. Twitter’s search has helped find or confirm news sources many times. With these new features coming soon, Threads could become the next big thing in social media.
