The First 120W-Fast Charging Phone Isn't From OPPO

OPPO and Realme Boasted 125W Fast Charging Solution A Couple of Weeks Ago

While 65W charging is the fastest charging solution for smartphones right now, such as Find X2 Pro, OPPO and Realme made it clear a few weeks ago that 125W is the future. In fact, OPPO even released its 125W flash charger. Though it’s known to the public, it’s not yet ready to hit the mainstream market. On the contrary, Vivo just announced that its upcoming iQOO 5 Series, with support for 120W fast charging, will be revealed on August 17 in China.

iQOO is Vivo’s sub-brand gaming company. Much like Xiaomi’s Black Shark series, its gaming phones are high-end in specs with relatively affordable price tags. As seen from official posters, the number of the game is “120”, literally. Other than 120W charging, the 120Hz refresh rate and 120-degree ultrawide camera get teased as well.

iQOO 5 looks to replace iQOO 3, which only went official last February. The older sibling comes with 6.44″ Super AMOLED, Snapdragon 865, 48MP quad-cameras, and 4400mAh battery with 55W fast charging for CNY 3,598(~P19K).
