That’s What POCO’s Marketing Manager Expects It to Be
In a tweet by Angus Kai Ho Ng, Global Spokesperson and Product Marketing Manager for POCO, he teases a “new POCO” that may be the OnePlus Nord killer. At this point, no leaks nor rumors are leading up to this. However, it’s kinda easy to anticipate what POCO phone is going to launch. After all, the “independent” company loves to rebrand Xiaomi phones.
OnePlus Nord, in India, has an exclusive model with 6GB/64GB that sells only for INR 24,999(~P16,500). Provided Xiaomi always comes out with great price tags, we expect no less when it comes to features. Much like the Nord, the next POCO phone is likely to sport a high refresh rate screen and 5G. And if we’re to go with that specification, Redmi K30 5G comes to mind. It features the same Snapdragon 765G chipset, but with a faster 120Hz screen, albeit IPS LCD.Â
In China, the device announced with CNY 1999 (~P14,400) price for the same base model. However, Redmi K30i 5G got released as well just last May. It features the same spec sheet as the K30 5G, but the 64MP quad-cameras gets downgraded to 48MP quad-cameras. The price, however, starts at CNY 1899(~P13,500).
For all we know, POCO may be releasing a different model. That said, take this speculation with a grain of salt.
