Last year, Tecno stunned everyone by unveiling two flagships. The Tecno Phantom X2 and X2 Pro are high-end phones with great chipsets and excellent cameras. Design & Display
Tecno Phantom X2 and Pro share a design. A Glass back, a Gorilla Glass Victus front, and a metal frame. They have a sizeable rear-mounted camera module and the front camera punch hole at the top-center of the display. The vanilla model has Moonlight Silver leather, while the Pro has Mars Orange leather. Both phones are available in Stardust Gray.
These phones have identical screens and designs. The AMOLED panel has a 6.8-inch Full HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus. It’s okay, but it could be better. OLED displays provide deep blacks and bright colors, and their rapid refresh rate makes them smooth.
Camera & Speaker
The camera arrangement is the only significant variation between the Tecno Phantom X2 and X2 Pro. The Pro is a high-end camera phone, while the vanilla is midrange. The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro has a triple back camera with a 50 MP primary shooter, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom, and a 13 MP ultrawide lens. Vanilla features a 64 MP primary camera with OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. As seen, these camera departments varied greatly. Both have 32 MP selfie cameras.
As for their sounds, both devices have a loudspeaker with no 3.5mm headphone jack. Unfortunately, usually flagship smartphones have stereo speakers, but they are lacking in these devices.
OS, RAM & Storage
Regarding the software and hardware of these phones, the operating system installed is Android 12, which has been modified by HiOS 12. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000, the company’s top-of-the-line chipset as of 2022, is the chipset that both of these devices rely on to function. It is constructed using a manufacturing method that is 4 nanometers in size, and it has a Mali G710 MC10 GPU and 256 gigabytes of storage space on the inside. The vanilla version only has 8 gigabytes of RAM, while the Pro model has 12 gigabytes, which is why it comes out on top in the hardware comparison. This is the only difference between the two versions in the hardware section.
Battery & Charging
The phones have 5160 mAh batteries that can be charged quickly with 45W. The charging speeds are also the same.
Price & Availability
The Tecno Phantom X2 retails for an estimated $490 (about Php 26,729) in the Indian market, while the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro’s pricing has not yet been announced.
