Sony has been awfully quiet lately, almost too quiet as they silently introduced the Xperia X series right under a lot of people’s noses. Let’s take a closer look at the three handsets that are under the Xperia X lineup and decide for ourselves if the-the lineup is worth the attention.
Exclusive: Sony Xperia X vs Xperia Z5

First on the list is the Sony Xperia X, apparently all 3 handsets will carry around 5-inch FHD displays on a whim, which probably means that these series keeping things sweet in the mid-range category. An interesting thing to note on this handset is its rather impressive “future focus” smart camera feature, which is all thanks to Sony’s Predictive Hybrid Autofocus. Bottomline is, it keeps track of your subject easily and advances the focusing time and speed that is suitable for your target, so that means moving targets are easier to shoot at and with great clarity and precision.
Its 23MP rear shooter is said to be launched and snap a photo in a very speedy 0.6seconds, which is very reminiscent of the Sony Xperia M5’s fast autofocusing speed. Other specs include a Snapdragon 650 chip, 3GB of RAM with 32GB of ROM and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It carries a 2689mAh battery capacity and brings over Sony’s two-day battery life.
The next phone to cruise in is the Sony Xperia X Performance, which seems to be primarily targeted to the more “active” market. The handset carries an awesome Snapdragon 820, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. The Xperia X Performance, as the name suggest is quite a performer, thanks to its IP68 certification, bringing the handset waterproof and dust-proof features. Camera-wise, the X Performance carries around the same 23MP Hybrid AF rear shooter and 13MP selfie shooter, with the main camera capable of shooting 4K UHD videos.
And finally, the last of the Xperia X-series so far is none other than the Xperia XA. The mystery’s been solved and this handset is apparently not the “Xperia C6” (our bad!). The Xperia XA is the most affordable among the three with its 5-inch 720p HD display, MediaTek MT6755 chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Shooting-wise, it carries a standard pairing of 13MP/8MP camera setup. Amongst the 3, this is the only handset that doesn’t carry a fingerprint scanner and carries a lower 2300mAh battery capacity.
I’m sure Sony has their reason, but they do love launching out series’ on three’s eh? With that, though, there isn’t much news on these three handsets, in terms of pricing and launching dates, though we’ll keep our eyes peeled for it, no doubt.

In comparison to the specs from gsmarena, I think if you compare the x series to the last batch of z series, the z series is the best and probably the last best thing that sony will produce….the z5 series has all octa cores while the x series goes back to the quad to minimize battery constraints, and at the same time minimize cost of production but still has the good quality and speed…..So if your planning to upgrade your cellphones now, better purchase the z5 series before it run out….. but then again its just my thought….
Mac Whskey says:
This x series uses adreno 506 and above it means this phones doesnt need extra cores. Except xa
