Ahead of Unpacked 2020, Samsung outs Galaxy Z Flip 5G
When Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip — the world’s first flip smartphone — the reactions from the public was mixed. While some praised the pocketability of the design, not a lot was a fan of the small battery capacity. Given the compact and folding build, it’s understandable. Though many were hoping that the company would include a bigger battery next time, Samsung went ahead and pack in a more powerful chipset with a battery-draining 5G modem. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G will become available in the US in Mystic Gray and Mystic Bronze for $1449.99(~P71,600), starting August 7.
Now capable of 5G, the new Galaxy Z Flip will drain the small 3300mAh battery faster than ever. Other than the flagship chipset, it still comes with the same 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED folding screen with a 1.1″ Super AMOLED outer mini-display. The RAM and storage are still the same at 8GB and 256GB, respectively. But instead of UFS 3.0, it’s now 3.1, which is the faster version.
