Samsung Galaxy Fan Edition or Samsung Galaxy S20 Lite?

At this point, we already know Samsung is working on another model of its popular S20 series. With the pandemic upon us and the undeniably overpricing of flagship smartphones every year, it’s becoming harder and harder to own a top-end device. Hence, the S20 Lite, aka Galaxy Fan Edition. It seems what started from the S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite will continue to be a trend for the next couple of years. Thanks to Ice Universe, we’re treated with more hot tea.

Other than the Snapdragon 865, apparently, we should also expect a 120Hz refresh rate, IP68 water & dust resistance, and a “3.33mm hole”. For the latter, we feel like he’s talking about the pinhole cutout for the selfie camera. Now for a Lite phone, the Galaxy Fan Edition doesn’t seem to be carrying lite specs. The addition of the IP68 rating is a testament to that.

Provided the phone will come with Snapdragon chipset, you’d initially think that it wouldn’t arrive in other markets, including the Philippines. Well, not entirely. If this Fan Edition is truly a Fan Edition, then it might be the same case as the Galaxy Note Fan Edition (Note 7). That one retailed in the country.

As for the price, Ice Universe just said that it’s “nice.” If we have to take a guess, it could be around P36,000; higher than our original estimate of under P30,000.
