Two of the hottest affordable mid-range phones of late 2019 is about to land in the Philippines! Announced last August, both the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro will launch locally on October 11th.
Xiaomi Philippines has been teasing the Redmi Note 8 Series since October 3. There are two main reasons (among other reasons) why Xiaomi’s upcoming budget smartphones are highly anticipated — cameras and gaming performance.
Both phones come with four cameras to boot, with the Note 8 Pro featuring a massive 64MP Samsung sensor. Furthermore, MediaTek’s gamer-focused Helio G90T is powering the said phone. For those who just want to scroll through social media feeds, there’s a decent Snapdragon 665 on the Redmi Note 8.
Realme 5 (starts at P6,990) and 5 Pro (starts at P11,990) are the clear competition of the Redmi Note 8 Series. The company managed to keep the prices very low and affordable. Hopefully, both Note 8 and Note 8 Pro can do the same thing. In China, the former starts at CNY 999 or P7k(4GB/64GB) while the latter at CNY 1399 or P10k(6GB/64GB).

When the Redmi note 7 launched, clearly it had a ton of advantages over the Realme 3, this time, it is a very close fight, as you can see they now have the same chipsets, quad cameras. Again, Redmi has made a phone with a build quality that is far from the polycarbonate phone that realme has. Can’t wait.
