While Realme Philippines is busy re-stocking its stores of Realme 5 Pro units, the global brand has announced its first flagship phone ever — the Realme X2 Pro. It features a fast display refresh rate, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, and 64MP Quad Camera that lets you have it for CNY 2699 (~nearly P20k or $400) price only for the 6GB/64GB base model. The 8GB/128GB variant has a price of CNY 2899 (~P21k) while the 12GB/256GB maxed out version of Realme X2 Pro is priced at CNY 3299 (~P24k) — all prices are subject to change once launched in PH due to tariffs and/or taxes.

Realme X2 Pro is the new flagship killer in town

Looking to take the market share from the likes of OnePlus 7T, Realme X2 Pro is another flagship killer that might make you ditch your current phone (that is if you don’t mind the OPPO OS flavor). There are a lot of amazing features here but the biggest is the 90Hz display and 64MP Quad Camera. The former lets you feel that smooth display like the one found on OnePlus 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro. This time, you have ColorOS 6 as the Android skin. Furthermore, there’s support for HDR10+ and DCI-P3 color space.

As for the cameras, the 64MP from Samsung is your main shooter. There’s an 8MP sensor that lets you shoot ultrawide at 115 degrees (as well as macro with a distance of 2.5cm) and 13MP telephoto that delivers 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom. Last but not least is the 2MP depth sensor. Realme has good software processing when it comes to photo quality. You can also expect the same from its night mode, dubbed as Nightscape 2.0. Realme X2 Pro’s cameras are obviously made for the mid-range segment, as it lacks optical image stabilization. Instead, you’re getting electronic image stabilization that works up to 4K @ 30fps.

With a fast display and a power-hungry chipset, you need a huge battery to last a day in a single charge. Unfortunately, 4000mAh isn’t enough. On the flip side, the company’s 50W SuperVOOC flash charging lets you go up to 80% in just 30 minutes. What’s even better is that the USB Type-C port of Realme X2 Pro is compatible with both USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm QuickCharge standards.

Some features that you won’t typically find from flagship killer phones are Tactile Linear Motor for better haptic feedback and Ultra-Linear (a fancy term for dual-stereo speakers) with Hi-Res and Dolby Atmos support. There’s even Hyperboost 2.0 for more stable frame rates, Touch Boost 2.0 for up to 35% faster touch latency, and vapor chamber to keep the innards cool.

Realme X2 Pro comes in two basic colors — Ocean Blue and Midnight Silver. According to the company, there are two Master Editions — the Red and Gray variants. Based on the images, they look pretty damn good. While the device is already available in China, the company will be heading to Europe to announced the Realme X2 Pro.

If you’re planning to get the Realme X2 Pro in the future, the base model features UFS 2.1 storage while the higher-end models come with a faster UFS 3.0 storage.
