Realme V5 Now Official: 90Hz, 5G, 5000mAh(30W), 8GB RAM Starting at P10,500

Mediatek Dimensity 720 is killing the market with Realme V5

It was only a few days ago when we reported about Mediatek’s Dimensity 720 paving the way for affordable 5G phones. Lo and behold, Realme V5 is now official in China, featuring 5G connectivity, 90Hz fast refresh rate, and a massive 5000mAh battery with 30W SuperDart charging that only starts at CNY 1499(~P10,500) for the 6GB/128GB. You only need to spend CNY 1899(~P13,300) for the 8GB model. Coming in green, blue, and silver colors, Realme V5 will go sale on August 7. Of course, expect the prices above to change once taxes and duties by countries are taken into consideration.

Realme V5 is almost like Realme 6 in some ways. Apart from the fast display and affordable price tag, the 16MP selfie camera is also housed in a pinhole cutout. While the design isn’t as flashy, the two-tone finish on the back is unique, even though it reminds us of the Realme C11. Given that the chipset is relatively new, we don’t know how well the Dimensity 720 performs in the real world. However, the Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 core setup show a resemblance to Helio G90T. But really, what’s interesting here is the 5G mobile support. Sure, 5G isn’t supported widely yet, but Realme V5 already offers great value today and tomorrow.
