A laundrywoman who ‘just tried her luck in lotto’ has claimed her P50.6 million prize, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Monday.
The 48-year-old woman from Quezon City brought home her P50, 689, 948 million jackpot of the 6/55 Grand Lotto’s March 4 draw.
A mother to two children and a wife to a husband who works as a carpenter, she based her winning numbers – 07-08-10-19-48-55 on her age and the birthdates of family members.
PCSO acting chairman Jose Ferdinand Rojas II shared that the woman works for her elder sister by doing household chores in exchange for the education of her two children and her family’s basic expenses.
Since her husband’s compensation as a carpenter cannot meet their daily basic needs, the woman said, “We just tried our luck in lotto.”
The winner plans to buy a house and lot, share her winnings with her sister and save the rest in a bank.
