POCO X3 NFC probably is the most successful mid-range phone since the POCO F1. Sure, it doesn’t come with a flagship chip, but it beats its competition with a 120Hz screen, good cameras, and a large battery with fast charging capability. Apparently, the next step for the best mid-range phone in 2020 is to have a pro model for its successor.
A recent certification listing reveals the name POCO X3 Pro. Cross-referencing the model number M2102J20SG to an IMEI database reveals the moniker of the upcoming phone. The listing doesn’t reveal the specs of the device, but various sources are suggesting a 48MP quad-camera and a two-year old flagship SoC, particularly the Snapdragon 855 or 860.
Judging by the specs of the X3 NFC, there’s a good chance the 120Hz refresh rate will make a comeback, but probably at the cost of slightly worse camera internals. It’s interesting to see POCO trying to release a pro model this year instead of totally phasing out the X3 NFC with a different name.
