With a partnership with Dark League Studios, Asia’s oldest professional basketball league, PBA will organize an esports event.
The PBA and eSports personality Setsuna “AkoSiDogie” Ignacio teamed up with PBA players Jeric Ahanmisi, Allen Mina, and Joseph Gabyni for a show match between a top amateur team, MINANA Esports, and Ignacio and PBA players Jeric Ahanmisi, Allen Mina, and Joseph Gabyni.
The two leagues crossed over during the grand finals of the first season of the Dark League Studios Kings League in late December.
As expected, MINANA beat the PBA Allstars with a 51-19 win.
But the basketball stars teaming up with one of the biggest Mobile Legends influencers and pro players was a sign of what the PBA had in mind. Carlo Giron, in charge of operations for Dark League, said that Dark League Studios is helping the association make its own league.
AC Valdenor, the CEO of Dark League Studios, says that fans were happy to see their favorite basketball stars play in a friendly game of the well-known MLBB game.
The partnership aims to “bring together professional basketball and esports” and raise awareness of the growing industry in the country.
