If you still haven’t convinced yourself how good OnePlus 8 Pro’s cameras are today, maybe DXOMark can change your mind as it has released the overall camera score of OnePlus’ latest flagship. Garnering an overall score of 119, the 8 Pro narrowly beats the Galaxy S20+(118) and iPhone 11 Pro Max(117). Compared to its predecessor, the 7T Pro is behind by five points at 114. The 8 Pro scored 126 in photo and 103 in video.
OnePlus 8 Pro features two 48MP cameras — one for the wide and the other for ultrawide. Also, there’s an 8MP telephoto lens that offers 3x optical zoom and another 5MP for macro. Overall, DXOMark praised the good detail and low-noise output of photos. The autofocus continues to be fast and reliable and the exposure is accurate. The website even said that there are nice colors and detail in ultrawide shots. The few downsides of OnePlus 8 Pro’s cameras are minor highlight clippings, fringing in ultrawide shots, and noisy and underexposed night shots.
For the video quality, the detail is well-preserved, colors are pleasant and accurate, stabilization and dynamic range are good. On the opposite end, autofocus instabilities, low shadow exposure, and temporal noise are present.
While OnePlus have always boasted speed, maybe this time it can finally brag about its cameras that, from the start, had always been lackluster.
OnePlus 8 Pro is available in the Philippines for P45,990 for the 8GB/128GB, with the 12GB/256GB for P48,990.
