
Sony has announced the RX10 V, Sony’s new camera featuring a 25x optical zoom lens, AI-powered autofocus, and advanced video recording capabilities.
The camera is equipped with a 20.1MP 1-inch Exmor RS stacked CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR image processor and a dedicated AI chip.
It uses a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24–600mm F2.4–4 lens, offering a wide focal range for landscapes, wildlife, sports, and distant subjects.
For photography, the RX10 V supports up to 30fps blackout-free continuous shooting with 60 AF/AE calculations per second.
It also features Real-time Recognition AF with AI subject detection for humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes. The autofocus system includes approximately 575 phase-detection points, covering around 70.6% of the image area.

On the video side, the camera records 4K at up to 60fps without crop and 4K at up to 120fps with crop.
It supports 10-bit 4:2:2 recording in XAVC HS, XAVC S, and XAVC S-I formats. Additional video features include S-Cinetone, S-Log3, user LUT support, Active Mode image stabilization, Auto Framing, and 4-channel audio recording.
The RX10 V also includes Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, a 3.68-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder, and a 3.0-inch 1.62-million-dot tilting touchscreen. It uses Sony’s Z battery, rated for up to 630 still images per charge.
