Meta has announced Muse Spark, the first model developed by its Meta Superintelligence Labs.
The company says the model is designed to improve how its AI assistant works across its platforms.
According to the company, Muse Spark is built to be smaller and faster than previous models, while still capable of handling complex tasks such as reasoning in science, math, and health-related topics. It also supports multimodal input, allowing users to interact using text and images.
With the update, Meta AI introduces new features such as task-based modes and the ability to run multiple sub-agents at the same time. This allows the assistant to handle different parts of a request simultaneously, such as planning trips or comparing options.

The system can also analyze images. For example, users can take a photo of a product or food item and ask the AI for details or comparisons. Meta says this feature is being developed with input from medical professionals for health-related use cases.

In addition, Meta AI is being integrated more closely with content from its platforms. The assistant can surface recommendations and insights based on posts, trends, and user activity across its apps.
Meta said the new features are starting to roll out in the United States, with wider availability planned for more regions over time.
The AI model is also expected to roll out to other services, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, in the coming weeks. Meta also plans to offer the model to selected partners through a private API preview.
