After the launch of the vivo V50 in the Philippines, a more affordable version, vivo V50 Lite, has also been introduced to the local market.
But don’t underestimate this Lite variant, it may come at a lower price, but it still offers features you wouldn’t normally expect from a “Lite” model.
Starting at PHP13,999, the vivo V50 Lite packs an impressive 6500mAh BlueVolt battery paired with 90W FlashCharge. We think that is something you don’t usually see at this price point.
Despite its large battery, the phone remains slim at just 7.79mm thick and weighs 197 grams.
Also, in our battery test, the device lasted 16 hours and 37 minutes at 50% volume and 50% brightness of continuous watch time. It can also charge from 0% to 100% in just 53 minutes, giving you more time to use and less time waiting.
For me, I didn’t have to think much of my battery percentage even if I was outside.
What’s even more impressive is its battery durability. The vivo V50 Lite is rated for up to 1700 charging cycles. If you’re a casual user and charge your phone just once a day, that could last you around 4.6 years, that’s nearly five years of strong battery health.
To check the battery condition, navigate to Settings, and tap on Battery, Battery Health & Charging.
We’ve talked a lot about how fast the vivo V50 Lite charges and how long the battery lasts, but what about safety? Well, it’s just as reliable.
The vivo V50 Lite offers overvoltage, overheat, and overcurrent protection. Yes, these protections play a big role in battery health. However, we still do not recommend leaving your phone on charge overnight regularly.
Moreover, the vivo V50 Lite also offers bypass charging, which is a useful feature—especially for gamers. This means that when gaming or even just using the vivo V50 Lite for long periods, the power from the charger goes directly to the device’s system instead of the battery.
This results in less heat during gaming and helps prevent battery degradation caused by the habit of constantly charging over time.
As we mentioned earlier, the V50 Lite can fully charge in under an hour with its 90W FlashCharge, right?
Other than that, it also supports reverse charging, which means you can charge other devices like smartphones, earphones, or even small speakers. It’s like a power bank.
To use its reverse charging, you will need a dual Type-C cable. After that, plug it into the V50 Lite and the other into the device you want to charge.
Now that we have talked about its battery capabilities, let’s talk about its other features as well.
The vivo V50 Lite features a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution of 2392 × 1080, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1800 nits of peak brightness.
Camera-wise, the device also houses a 50MP IMX882 CMO main camera, paired with a 120° 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 32MP punch-hole selfie camera.
Under the hood, it is powered by a Dimensity 6300 processor, along with options of 8GB RAM with 256GB storage or 12GB RAM with 512GB of storage. Lastly, it runs on Funtouch OS 15 with Android 15 right out of the box. It’s available in three colors, Titanium Gold, Fantasy Purple, and Phantom Black.
As always, below is a specification list of the device for your convenience.
As for its price, the vivo V50 Lite comes in two versions: 4G and 5G.
The 4G model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at PHP 13,999. Meanwhile the 5G option with the 8GB+256GB variant costs PHP 16,999, and the 12GB+512GB version is priced at PHP 19,999.
Also, pre-order the vivo V50 Lite until April 25, 2025 and enjoy PHP1,000 off, limited edition vivo Buds, and a vivo VIP Card with a 5-year battery warranty and 6-month extended warranty, available at all vivo stores nationwide.
