Intel quietly introduces its latest efficiency-focused processor, the Intel Core Ultra 5 115U, without even listing it in their product lineup as we need to wait for its launch date for market availability. This new chip, part of the Meteor Lake series, features a unique configuration of 2 performance cores, 4 efficient cores, and 2 low-power efficient cores, totaling 10 threads.
The two performance cores boast a maximum turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz, while the four efficient cores reach up to 3.5 GHz. The two low-power efficient cores have a maximum turbo frequency of 2.1 GHz. In comparison to the Core Ultra 5 125H, known for its performance, the 115U runs on lower peak frequencies for all cores but compensates with higher base frequencies for certain cores.
With a 10MB cache, the Core Ultra 5 115U offers slightly less cache memory compared to the 18MB cache of the Core Ultra 5 125H. Graphics capabilities are impressive, supporting resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60Hz, matching the performance of the Core Ultra 5 125H.
The Core Ultra 5 115U is designed for efficiency, boasting a base power consumption of 15W, significantly lower than the 28W of the 125H. Additionally, its maximum turbo power is capped at 57W, far less than the 115W of its counterpart.
