Facebook is now testing its “downvote” feature in the Philippines.
First seen in countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, the feature allows users to hide rude, irrelevant, or offensive comments and give feedback on them.
Although it was officially announced back in April 2025, it seems that more users in the Philippines are only starting to receive it now as part of a gradual test rollout.
This is not a “dislike” button, but rather a way to help push low-quality comments further down the thread.
The tool is part of the app’s ongoing efforts to reduce spam and improve content quality.
Downvotes are anonymous, and the idea is to let the community help manage conversations by quietly flagging unhelpful or harmful comments.
However, this Facebook feature is not yet available to all users in the Philippines and seems to be rolled out for testing only.
What do you think of this downvote feature? Do you think it will help in making Facebook a safer social media platform?
