Mortal Kombat has been delayed for a week! The news was announced by Warner Bros as the video game adaptation would be pushed back to an April 23 release date instead of the 16th.

According to IGN, HBO announced that it would push back the movie for one week however, no details were given on the reason. Mortal Kombat is expected to release both in theaters and in HBO Max as was planned for Warner Bros. with their current 2021 movie slate.

The adaptation would be directed by Simon McQuoid which would star famous characters from popular fighting video game franchise such as Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Sonya Blade, and Jax Briggs. The movie revolves around a tournament that would decide the fate of Earth and other realms.
