Taiwanese semiconductor firm MediaTek has announced its latest System-on-Chip called the Dimensity 1300.
The chip is built on TSMC’s 6nm process and features an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores running up to 3GHz and another four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores that scale up to 2Ghz. The graphics processor is a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.
Moreover, it can support up to 168Hz displays at FHD+ (2520 x 1080) resolution, up to 200MP cameras as well as 4K HDR videos. There’s also hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming. The chip can be paired with up to 16GB LPDDR4x RAM along with compatibility for UFS 3.1 type storage. For connectivity, it is rated for integrated 5G with 4×4 MIMO as well as 2 x WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
MediaTek has yet to reveal the devices that will launch with the Dimensity 1300, but we expect the OnePlus Nord 2T to be among them.
