A report has surfaced that LG’s V60 successor is placed on hold. This is according to Korean outlet Chosun.
Codenamed Rainbow, LG’s next line of a smartphone was supposedly underway with its field testing at the end of February and it would have a market release in March. However, it seems that the company has ceased communication with its local carriers regarding Rainbow’s release.
In the demo given at CES 2021, the LG Rainbow would be a more traditional smartphone which is far different from Explorer Project’s rollable phone. The smartphone would be dubbed V70 and would feature a Snapdragon 888 chipset and accompanied by a stylus.
With earlier reports, this is not the first time LG has been rumored to hold production on one of their projects. Recently, which was reported by Yonhap, it was said that LG placing their rollable phone project on hold. The company debunked the report but never gave clear details on the project’s status. Also, LG was reported to exit and sell its smartphone division.
