Just this November apple released their first all screen smartphone, the apple X. And after a few days of its release we were able to get our hands on one so here it is, our iPhone X unboxing.
Like every other iPhone box, you get that smooth satisfying feeling when opening it. Inside you can find a packet containing user guides, sim ejector pin and some stickers. And of course, the iPhone X, comes with it are the exact same accessories the iPhone 8 and 8 plus have. Even though the X supports quick charging and being an Apple iPhone, you’d have to buy the fast charging adapters and cables separately. Now that that’s settled, let’s get to the phone itself.
The iPhone X literally has an all screen display not counting the Notch up top where the front camera and advanced 3d sensors are located, removing the iconic circular home button and fingerprint scanner for a face ID, which is not only used to unlock your phone but to make a purchase and to log-in into some apps. The iPhone X also has a 5.8” super AMOLED display and even if it has a bigger screen than the 8 plus, it still is relatively smaller. Behind it are the dual-rear cameras and a flash placed in a vertical fashion surrounded by a glass back which apple claims are made from a strong type of glass.
Losing the conventional home button, the user will rely on the on-screen gestures in able to navigate. To multitask, you’ll have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause for a moment. However, if you are in an app, swiping right along the bottom edge of the screen lets you switch to another app. Swiping down from the middle of the screen lets you find what you are looking for in your device or on the web. Looking for the control center? Swiping down from the upper-right corner of the screen helps you find what you’re looking for. Yes, the screen sandwiching the notch are still functional. Notifications can be accessed traditionally like any other smartphones by swiping down from the top of your screen. Button combinations are also different as the home button left. But the classic assistive touch always does the trick if you don’t feel like memorizing button combination functions.
Photos on the rear camera produce great quality but we’ll leave that part for our in-depth review about the phone. Front camera shots feature a portrait mode which has modes like natural light, studio light, contour light, stage light and stage light mono. Although some shots may take a few tries to get it right. Video recording can also go up to 4k resolution with 60 fps.
The iPhone X also features the animoji which uses its advanced 3d sensors to animate emojis which you can send to your friends and let them know that you possess an iPhone X. Other features will be mentioned in our upcoming iPhone X review so always keep that notification button on.
