A recent report in China claims that OnePlus and realme have been internally merged by OPPO into a new “sub-series” business unit.
We can recall that earlier this year, OPPO reabsorbed realme as a sub-brand, while rumors about OnePlus’ shutdown were disproven.

The new “sub-series” business unit will be headed by realme CEO Li Bingzhong (Sky), while Xu Qi will be overseeing marketing and service systems for both OnePlus and realme.
On the product side, a dedicated product center was created by OPPO with separate domestic and overseas teams. Heading this product center is Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, and will report to OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau. Former realme executive Wang Wei serves as deputy general manager.
Meanwhile, realme’s R&D team is being merged back into OPPO. Technical units, including hardware and imaging, will no longer function as separate entities but will instead operate as part of Oppo’s unified system.
The report also states that realme’s offices and teams have already been moved into OPPO’s headquarters, and its after-sales service in China is now being handled by OPPO’s network.
This move from OPPO signals a shift toward a more centralized operation that prioritizes shared resources and aims for efficiency, while ensuring tighter management of its sub-brand ecosystem.
Official information has yet to be shared by the two brands.
