Tablets may not be as popular as it once were but that won’t stop Huawei from releasing the Matepad T8 — perhaps the cheapest tablet in 2020. Just a few weeks ago, the company launched the MatePad Pro. However, the P32,990 price tag might be too much to some especially that we’re geared towards our phone instead of large-slab of screens. But if you just want a tablet that can be used by your kids, the RON 500(~P5,600) price of MatePad T8 is very compelling.
If you’re still looking for the MediaPad Series, Huawei dropped the name in favor of MatePad. With that said, the MatePad T8 is the cheapest tablet among its family. It’s also the smallest, thanks to the 8″ LCD screen with 1280 x 800 resolution. There are bezels on the top and bottom portion (when vertically held) to make it easier to hold when using the tablet horizontally. Inside the cheap Huawei tablet is MediaTek MTK8768 chipset with 2GB RAM. While it’s not the best for gaming, it’s enough for video streaming and casual gaming. On top of that is up to 32GB internal storage. Even with the low-power processing unit, the T8 runs Android 10 out of the box with a decently-sized 5100mAh battery. Available in blue color, the tablet will go on sale in Romania next month.Â
