Given the weakened market of tablets in the world for the past recent years, we hardly get to see affordable tablets today. But if there’s a manufacturer out there that is willing to ramp up the tablet market once again, that’s Samsung. After releasing its flagship 5G Galaxy Tab S6 two months ago, the company is back with a slightly more affordable version. Meet the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. As the name suggests, the specs of Tab S6 Lite is toned down to make it affordable. While the price wasn’t mentioned, according to a B&H listing in North America, the tablet was listed with a $350(~P18K) price for the 64GB Wi-Fi-only model. The 128GB version was listed $420(~P21K).
For the rest of the specification, Tab S6 Lite isn’t something you’d want if you’re into gaming. The heart of the device is an octa-core SoC that’s assumed to be the Exynos 9610 or 9611. It’s the same SoC powering the Galaxy A50, A50s, and A51. The processor is paired with 4G RAM and up to 128GB expandable storage. For the screen, we’re looking at a 10.4″ WUXGA+ with a 2000 x 1200 resolution. It supports the S-pen stylus that’s tucked away on the side. Tab S6 Lite features dual-speakers with AKG and Dolby Atmos enhancements. Unlike Huawei MatePad Pro, there’s a headphone jack here. The battery is rated 7040mAh which is claimed to last up to 13 hours of video playback. Even with the large battery, the tablet managed to clock in at 7mm thick and 467g heavy only.
We can’t say when the Tab S6 Lite will release but it’s already up on Samsung Indonesia’s website. The screen quality may not be the best but if you just want a tablet for Netflix, this is an affordable option.
