Along with the MateBook X Pro 2020, Huawei Philippines also announced the MatePad Pro with a price of P32,990. You can pre-order already via Silicon Valley to get a FREE Huawei Keyboard, M-Pencil, and Member Center Awards. Despite the price tag, we’re glad that the company has included the free keyboard and pencil to make it a nearly fully-functional laptop. As a fully-functional tablet, here’s what it has to offer.
Unlike most tablets in 2020, MatePad Pro supports reverse wireless charging of up to 7.5W. But when charging the tablet itself, the 7250mAh battery replenishes with a 27W charging rate. Given the 5G capability, the flagship chipset, Kirin 990, is no surprise here. Yes, it runs Android’s open-source Google version hence the lack of Google apps and services, but you do have the improving Huawei AppGallery for that. Furthermore, you can still get work done with the large 16:10 2560 x 1600 display on PC Mode. Although we did mention 5G earlier, the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage configuration show that the local MatePad Pro is the 4G model. Given the lack of 5G support locally, it’s not really a dealbreaker.
